Two workshops to support  access to AAC

Movements for Communication - presented by Fiona Beauchamp

Presented by Fiona Beauchamp, a senior OT at CPEC, the aim of this 2 day workshop is to understand the complexity and strategies involved in enabling a child with a physical disability and complex communication needs to access AAC and technology.

This workshop will explore the movements required and strategies to implement to support a range of children to learn the movements required to become more intelligible, autonomous communicators.

Video case studies will be used to facilitate dynamic assessment, discussion and problem solving of real life situations and to demonstrate interventions and strategies.

Alternative Access PODD Workshop - presented by Gayle Porter
Friday 5 May 2017

Gayle Porter, the developer of the PODD, will present this 1 day workshop. It will provide information and the opportunity to practice various methods of accessing the PODD for those who cannot point directly with their hands (direct access), such as eye-gaze, partner-assisted scanning and more.
PLEASE NOTE: This workshop is only available to those who have attended a 2 Day Introductory PODD Workshop.
